Hello.

I have noticed two possible bugs relating to log files.

1. In the case of long log files (many thousand lines), the KVIrc log view (Tools > Browse Log Files) seems to be incapable of loading the entire log, and cuts off the starting portion of it, up to a certain point, such that it will always pick up somewhere in the middle (where it picks up depends on the size of the log), and goes until the end. I am not sure at what point exactly this occurs, but it's definately a problem.

2. In the case of the IRC client running for several days, it saves the logs into the log file of the date, on which the client was started. So for example, if I start the client on 1/1/07, and now it's 4/1/07, all the logs between the 1st and 4th of January would be saved in the log file with the date 1.1.7, instead of four different log files spanning across four different days.
This really wouldn't be a serious problem, if it wasn't for the above-mentioned problem.

I am using KVIrc 3.2.4 on Ubuntu 7.10 (which is unfortunately the latest version in the repositories), and I'm wondering if these problems are addressed in 3.2.6, and if not, could you please attempt to rectify them.

Thank you  Smiley

One more thing, when we delete a log using the log file reader, the log dosent get removed from the disk. And also it appears back in list, when log reader is again reopened.

settings>configure theme>> output>> advanced tab >> buffer size

increase number of lines especially if its a channel that normally has a high number that will resolve your truncated log viewer
