I'm not trying to bring out the troll in me, but if I'm allowed to ignore myself shouldn't I be able to not see what I write in chat.

I would suggest an event Handler onTextInput with content "say -q $0; halt;"

The say -q is for quiet, and halt does stop the original action.
You are able to ignore yourself, but the TextInput from yourself does not come from the server and only message from the server are filtered.

I fear that /msg #channel and normal /say are still visible for you.
